About Loktin

Loktin is a curated guide to independent local places, events and practical services. We started on Chicago’s North Shore and now also cover Austin, Katy, Greenwich, Palm Beach, Napa and Sonoma, Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo, and Scottsdale. It connects people to official business, organizer, and community-resource websites instead of asking them to depend on stale directory details.

What Loktin is for

Use Loktin to find a starting point for local events, dining, practical services, and community resources. Each listing should help a visitor reach the organization’s own site for current details, including hours, menus, availability, registration, pricing, or booking information.

Loktin is designed for ordinary local decisions: where to eat after an event, which official site to use when comparing a provider, or where to start when looking for a community activity. The goal is a useful route to current information, with a clear path back to the organization responsible for it.

Directory listings

Listings are based on publicly available business and organization information. A listing is not a recommendation, ranking, certification, or guarantee of service.

Events and guides

Event and resource pages link to official calendars and providers. Visitors should verify dates, eligibility, accessibility, and other changing details before making plans.

Corrections

Businesses and visitors can request factual corrections or additions by emailing support@loktin.co. Include the official source when possible.

Choose your local edition

Each edition brings together local restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, services and a city-specific events calendar. Nearby trips are labeled with their actual town so you can judge the journey.

How we choose and check places

Our expansion editions focus on independent businesses and local operators, including small regional groups. We exclude national franchises and big-box retailers. Public parks, museums and other community destinations also appear where they help with local planning.

We check official business and organizer information, record the date on city listings, and label nearby destinations. This is desk research, not a claim that we personally visited every place. See our selection approach and editorial standards. Current hours, admission, menus and event availability should be confirmed with the operator.
